Go Green or Go Home: Sustainability and Events in 2023 and Beyond

Monday, September 4, 2023 | 3 – 4 p.m. CET
Registration Cost: Complimentary

Webinar Overview

Our industry and the events we host cause an unavoidable impact to our planet. Most organizations feel ill-prepared for the regulatory and consumer expectations surrounding the issues of sustainability, which are critical to your long-term success.

Therefore, how can your venue mitigate harm and drive lasting sustainability as part of your event operations?

The good news is there are opportunities event organizers can take to ensure they operationalize sustainability and meet well-defined, long-term sustainability goals – meeting regulatory standards as well as the expectations of your audiences.

Join Peter Ward, Vice President, ESG & Major Events, at Momentus Technologies and special guest Marloes van den Berg, Chief Sustainability Officer, at Jaarbeurs as they share valuable insights into the future of sustainability, the differences between ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) and CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility), and practical guidance on how to implement sustainability practices in your organization.

Learning Objectives

  • Define the differences of ESG vs CSR.
  • Distinguish ways to implement sustainability into your venue operations.
  • Identify sustainability goals and best practices in venue and event management.

Marloes has over 15 years of experience in the events industry.

The mission of Jaarbeurs

Our goal is clear: we want to be the most sustainable conference and events venue in Europe. We have a genuine drive to make our organization a forerunner in society and in the events industry. We believe in a world where we care for and respect each other and our environment. Where the impact on the earth is reduced by reusing raw materials, managing and reducing waste and generating our own green energy. Where we walk, and travel by bike and train. Where we are aware of our differences and embrace them, without leaving anyone behind. We believe in a world that is bigger than our venue. With the 2.3 million guests we welcome each year, we can make a positive impact on our environment, our surroundings and the people we meet. There is much to be gained in the field of sustainability; that is why we would like to contribute to solutions to achieve that sustainability.
